Filter Manifolds and Assemblies
Western Filter designs, manufactures and tests complete single or multiple circuit filter manifold assemblies. These systems can incorporate the manifold head, filter bowls, filter elements, various valves and pressure indicators.

Filter Elements
Western Filter elements are designed, tested and built entirely in-house utilizing best industry practices and standards. Cleanable elements are all metal mesh or screen and are capable of 2 micron or larger particle filtration. Non-cleanable (disposable) elements are constructed of cellulose paper or multilayer media packs which include the media filtering paper, supporting fiberglass and wire mesh screen. These types of elements are capable of 3 micron or larger particle filtration.

Specialty Filter Element – Surface Tension Devices
Western Filter Surface Tension Devices are designed and built for liquid fuel guided missiles, drones and UAVs to exacting standards in order to optimize the platform’s maneuverability and flight time. Air is never transferred and filtered fuel still reaches the engine in almost empty conditions in any flight pattern making these filters a must for any program.

Valves
Western Filter assemblies incorporate many types of valves internally or as an in-line fitting attached to the filter head. The types of valves include Check, By-Pass, Shut-Off, Relief and Sampling valves.

Differential Pressure Indicators and Transducers
Western Filter manifold designs can also incorporate several types of differential pressure indicators to provide the end-user with notification that a filter element needs replacement. Low-cost color or “pop up” indicators can be used to provide a visual notification or electrical or electro-mechanical devices can be used that provide more precise signals of impending filter clog.

Specialty Pressure Indicators – Intelligent Filter Indicator (IFI)
Western Filter has developed and patented an electrical differential pressure transducer to provide a continuous milliamp/millivolt signal to an aircraft’s health monitoring system. The output stream is similar to that of an electro-mechanical transducer but comes at a lower per-unit cost since the IFI is fully electronic. In addition, Western Filter has developed a mathematical algorithm that will convert this data stream into real-time life remaining of the filter element. Operators no longer have to interpret when a filter will need replacement and will save time and money by knowing exactly when replacement will be necessary.
